Dr. Ocampo is originally from Hamilton, Alabama, where she graduated from Hamilton High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Science from Auburn University Montgomery and then earned her Doctorate at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, where she graduated with honors.
During her time at UABSO, Dr. Ocampo held several leadership positions and participated in humanitarian trips to the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Honduras to provide eye exams to underserved communities.
Dr. Ocampo has been serving residents of the Tennessee Valley area since 2006 when she moved to Decatur with her son, Alex. She is passionate about providing the highest quality eye care, and her patients often remark on how her warm personal approach puts them at ease.
Dr. Ocampo provides comprehensive eye care, including routine eye exams with prescriptions for glasses or contact lenses as well as the diagnosis and management of eye diseases.
She also provides pre- and post-operative care for surgical procedures, and she is especially interested in helping her patients see their very best so they can enjoy a high quality of life.
Since graduating optometry school, Dr. Ocampo has been very involved in her profession by serving in several leadership positions, including President of the Alabama Optometric Association. Her dedication to her profession was rewarded in 2012 when her peers presented her with the Alabama Optometric Association Young Optometrist of the Year Award. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Ocampo enjoys reading, outdoor activities, and spending time with family. She also loves learning new things and continues to add to her growing list of hobbies and skills.
Dr. Ashley Wright hails from “The River City,” Decatur, Alabama. She is a graduate of Austin High School. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Chemistry. She continued her collegiate studies at Alabama A&M University where she obtained her Master’s degree in Biology. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree from Salus University (Pennsylvania College of Optometry) in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania where she graduated with honors.
In Optometry school, Dr. Wright was inducted into Gold Key Honor Society, served as Vice President of the National Optometric Student Association, and was Co-coordinator of the Peer Mentoring Program. She received clinical training from The Eye Institute at Salus University in Pediatrics/Binocular Vision, both Vision America of Huntsville and the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center (Mountain Home, TN) in Ocular Disease, and at Northern Ophthalmic Associates (Philadelphia, PA) in Primary Care, receiving honors in all these clinical rotations.
Dr. Wright is happily married. She and her husband, Jeff, have one daughter. Dr. Wright enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, playing sports such as softball and volleyball, star gazing, and traveling. She enjoys serving her community through her affiliations with First Missionary Baptist Church and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

She is qualified to manage and treat various anterior and posterior segment diseases such as dry eye, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease and pre-operative/post-operative surgical care. She provides routine care services such as contact lens fitting. She loves to serve the patrons in her community by providing comprehensive vision care and is especially fond of pediatric patients.
